Official 2010 Screening Panel Announced
The New York Surf Film Festival is pleased to announce its official 2010 Screening Panel. The 2010 Screening Panel is made up of both international and local surfers with a wide range of credentials ranging from magazine editor to filmmaker, recognized artist, surfboard shaper, local surf shop owner and more. The panel will judge the NYSFF 2010 Official Selections across a growing categories list this year including, but not limited to: Best Feature, Best Short, Best Cinematography, Best Musical Score, and Best Animation. 2010 Submissions Now Open!
The New York Surf Film Competition is open to feature-length and short films in the surf genre. In order to be considered for the Festival’s Film Competition, submitted films must have been completed after July 2005. The running time for features must be greater than 30 minutes. Short films under 30 minutes in length are eligible for participation in the Short Film Program. Submissions open through May 15th, 2010. To submit your film you must include the following:

With three days of sold out screenings, over 3,500 people in attendance and numerous premieres and parties, the 2nd annual New York Surf Film Festival (NYSFF) wrapped up on Sunday with an Awards Ceremony and after party at Red Bull Space.

Surf Causes / Unsound Pro / NYSFF Kickoff Event
We invite you to come celebrate, support and learn about the diverse work of surf-related nonprofits at a kickoff party for the Unsound Pro surf competition and NYSFF events. WAVES for Development, Waves of Health, the Best Day Foundation, Stoked Mentoring, the Surfrider Foundation and SurfAid International will provide information on their surf nonprofit programs as beneficiaries of the event. The (Unofficial) New York Surf Week
The unofficial surf week in New York may have officially started yesterday down in New Jersey at the 17th Annual Manasquan Longboard Classic, but it gets back on this side of the river on Wednesday for the start of the 11th Annual Unsound Pro in Long Beach, NY which runs through the week and weekend and overlaps the 2nd Annual NY Surf Film Festival which opens on Friday, September and runs through Sunday, September 27 at Tribeca Cinemas.
